I had a fun time with this weeks homework assignment and learned a ton about layer masks. I think that there are definitely some serious advantages to working with masks because what you do within a mask has the ability to be non destructive. As such it's a great tool for Photoshop beginners like me.
The thing that keeps getting me is just how powerful Photoshop is at re-creating, interpreting, and changing colors. It just blows my mind when I see the actions that I'm taking translated to real pixels on the screen. This was very apparent this week with the red lips exercise out of the book. The ability to sample different colors and then use masks to ensure great selections of those colors is really fun and looks great.

Here are two of the images that I created this week using Masks.
I can't wait to see whats next and to dig a little deeper into Photoshop.
